Choices, looking for feedback.

So I am waiting on delivery of my 85 rimless tank and looking for some advice on lighting choices. Here are the details;


Going to be mixed reef FYI.

48x20x21


Options I am considering.

2 x AI Hydra 26HD

2 x Kessil 360WE w/controller

Kessil AP700 (almost same price as 360's w/ controller)

Price aside, what is the best option here for my dimensions in your opinion and why?

I run ai vegas. But a lot of ppl prefer radions. I use 2 ai on 75 gal and am totally satisfied with them. I think it comes down to personal preference

This is honestly my first saltwater tank. So a mixed reef for starters. I dont know if I'll get into anything too crazy at first until I have a good understanding of what I'm doing. But it would be nice if the light can handle some decent stuff. I have heard nothing but good things about the AP700, and it is by far the cleanest looking fixture that will be going over a relativatly expense set up. But I just wanted people opinions first!

I love my Kessil AP700 and feel it is the best light system. It creates a great looking display very close to MH, super PAR capable, and with Kessil Logic setup is easy and straight forward. You just need to find the colors you like, Kessil Logic ensures corals thrive no matter your choice.

The shimmer is brilliant and colors are perfectly blended. Absolutely no disco effect.
