Cleaner shrimp

If that’s how Mother Nature wants to roll then who am I to stop her,, I do what’s required of me to keep water fresh n as stable as possible,, rest is up to MN
If Mother Nature wanted us to follow the rules of the Sea, we wouldn't be allowed to keep fish in small glass boxes where transmission of infections/diseases is guaranteed.

As @Redfoxtang pointed out this is incorrect. I will link you to a paper explaining Cryptocaryon and it's lifecycle:

And I will also link you to a paper where someone studied what Crypto is able to attach to: https://pearl.plymouth.ac.uk/bitstream/handle/10026.1/2632/PETER JOHN BURGESS.PDF?sequence=1

And the coral and invert QT time frames post here on r2r: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/coral-invert-quarantine-time-frames.334584/
OK this makes sense. I wasn't being argumentative, I just wanted to be educated. This paper is very good.

I think he was saying we are MN when it comes to our tanks. MN controls the sea not a controlled environment. ;)

Out of personal experience I introduced ich into my reef from an order of inverts including snails, pepermint shrimp, and emerald crabs. Everything else in the tank came from my LFS. They treat all fish with copper, and won't even let you take home a fish that they haven't been able to observe for a week. I ordered the inverts from an online retailer that I had never used before to save a buck. And boy did it cost me.

That sounds like a lot of stress to fish...copper on everything they stock???

Sure, it's great for us to have a little fun between ourselves ....
But what about the newbies who take what you say as advice ?

Anyway, stay safe and stay sane
