I realize i have posted another thread about this but i am worried. My clownfish is breathing heavy and not swimming as much or being as active. I have heard it is my filter but that does not make a whole lot of sense since the clown has been in the tank for 3 years and has not had problems since a few days ago. Everything else in the tank is fine except the clown. I will get parameters for my tank as soon as my tests arrive from amazon.

Ok, just figured out my carbon bag broke and carbon rocks got in the tank and were floating around. I just spent about half an hour grabbing them out. Tbh clown actually seems better now that i took them out. Advice?

Would a skimmer help or something

Skimmer will increase oxygen but heavy breathing often due to high ammonia..nitrate ... salinity...temperature or velvet or flukes.

Ok, i will test as soon as i get them. Is carbon harmful if swallowed for fish?
possibly and often not palatable for fish to digest

dang, i will test my water but i am almost certain its because of the carbon, thank you.
Unless ingested it wouldn't cause any difference being in a bag or not.
