Clownfish Help!

Looks like a pretty deep infection (based on the picture); those are often fatal. Probably would add cipro or triple sulfa soaked food just to give it a shot as the furans do nothing other than treat skin infections and same may be true for the kanaplex.
The furan box says it treats open sores that are infected, but I assume that’s for much smaller infections. I’ll try everything I can to give him a chance, but you can’t save them all.

An open sore could be superficial or deep. If it's superficial the furan should treat it. But if it's deep, then it likely won't work as it doesn't penetrate deep tissue.

I would say it’s is deep. Why does it not penetrate deep tissue when that deep tissue is exposed to the water? I am also going to medicate some food, just to get it in it’s gut because I noticed stringy poop.
I really appreciate everyone’s feed back and advice!

Because there is likely more infection deeper in that you don't see. Also with such a deep wound it's very likely that the wound will get further infections because intact skin/scales is one of the most important parts of the immune system.

That makes sense, thanks
