I feel like a beginner. I bought my 20 gallon tenecor in 1993 and a 75 gallon oceanic reef ready in 1997. Both had the best filter systems (wet dry trickle) at least according to my books...ha!!. My 75 gallon even had four 48” VHO lights and computer fans from radio shack.
My books back then didn’t even mention zoas. I knew corals such as “open brain”, elegance, gonipora, hammer, bubble, and stag horn.
Anyway, I’m back in the hobby and have had a 85 gallon setup for about a year now.
What I’d like to find is a comprehensive coral chart that identifies coral by common and Latin genus, as well as aggression, lighting, current, growth rate, and expertise level. Preferably the chart would have an example picture of each type. I’m getting a better handle on things from my lfs, but then I go to some websites and feel overwhelmed. This is especially true when it comes to encrusting corals and whether they are sps or lps. Let’s face it, a chalice or an echinata kind of look like sps and some sps that are happy and feeding have some movement. So I’d love a good chart on one page if someone could point me in the right direction.
