Hi everyone - this is my Condylactis Anemone.
My tank was 10 months old when I added Nemmie - purple tipped anemone - and yes I understand tank should have been slightly older
. Nemmie would come out and then hide - off and on for these first weeks as it adjusted. Nemmie now remains out and "footed" to this corner. I feed it shrimp about once a week but understand that light is it's source for food. Unfortunately I was dealing with an algae issue now fairly getting under control keeping Phosphates and Nitrate in check. I did a massive tank reconstruct and manual cleaning this weekend in this +14 gal nano reef tank - keeping check on Nemmie as I went. All seems good including Nemmie. Understand - I love this Nemmie.
General parameters:
- pH stays at 8.0 - should be 8.1- 8.3 but with color assessment as my guide - hard to say. I choose stable over exact RIGHT NOW.
- Alk ranges from 8..3 - 9.8 with a Hanna meter - and fluctuates based upon my WC's and salt source.
- I make my own DI/RO and am pretty happy with it - TDS read 0 and I watch the filters as they are aging.
- Salinity ranges 1.023 - 1.024
- Mag was 1480 last checked - I don't test every week.
- I alternate with Energy Plus coral nutrition, Reef Trace and Reef Complete doses to the tank.
My double check with this well-versed team is this - that Nemmie's tentacles are slowly darkening as it adjusts. For a Condy - this is a GOOD sign of the zooanethellae health and that these purple tipped anemone shouldn't be pristine white but actually tan to darker - correct??
It's the coolest thing on the planet - right???
Cheetoh the clown fish has yet to host and that is not my goal - just nice to have if it happens.
