I am in the process of switching over to all AF products. My tank has been setup for just over 4 years. We have recently gotten rid of some LPS corals and moved things around to allow me to try some SPS. I have been doing 10% weekly water changes with AF Reef Salt for a couple months now, and everything is HAPPY! Last week, I purchased my first couple SPS frags and they have all been doing good, so far.

My Equipment is:
AGA 40 Breeder
AGA 20L DIY Sump
AI Hydra LED Light (original one - not the 52)
Curve 5 Bubble Mangus Skimmer
MP-10 Powerhead
Koralia 240 Powerhead
TLF GFO reactor
Gravity fed ATO system using a float valve
Refugium section of sump has some LR rubble and crushed coral sand with chaeto (lit by a CFL bulb)

Livestock is:
Zoas
Hammer
Frogspawn
Torch
Bubble
Trumpet frag
GSP (I want it gone, lol)
Two Goniopora frags
Green stylo frag
Two other SPS frags that I don't know the names of (sorry)

Two clownfish
One Purple Pseudo
One Leopard Wrasse
Couple Hermits
Some Snails

Currently, I am NOT dosing anything. The wife tested everything on Tuesday and these were the results:

Temp:79
Salinity: 1.026
PH 8.0
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 2
Calcium: 390
Alkalinity: 7
Magnesium: 1320

We have the Red Sea Calcium test, as well as the Hanna Checker...but I don't feel like I am getting accurate/repeatable results from either (Especially he Hanna)

Other than getting a Calcium test kit that I am confident in, I am not sure what my next steps should be...

Dont do anything special. Just measure the Alk regularly. Keep it stable. If weekly water changes hold it without dropping much then you are good. Once the it starts dropping and you can not control it just by water changes then you need to dose the components and I will help when the time comes.

Thanks man. I just wanted to go ahead and start a thread now as a starting point for this journey into SPS and the AF line of products.

After watching some YouTube and reading the directions a little closer, I believe I have the Hanna Checker (calcium) figured out. I have been able to get dependable and repeatable results that are in agreement with the Red Sea kit.

The tank does not seem to be using any appreciable amounts of Cal, Alk, Mag. So for now, I will stick to 10-20% water changes for mineral replenishment.
