Convict chalice

Hey Chris glad to see someone else that has this beautiful chalice. This is on very tricky chalice to get to grow. I have a frag that been sitting there for like a year now and no growth what so ever. I have another frag in the same system and it double in size. My mother colony is not very big no more because a good friend of mine persuade me to cut it for him. All i have to say is that i still havent figure out how to get this chalice to grow any faster then it already is.

Exactly the same thing that happened to me, one frag growing, one not, for no reason. The secret Im using on my healthy frag is not to ever cut it. I'll wait until its dinner plate size and then make 100 frags lol :) each of the 100 frags has its own chance of survival. It beats cutting off one frag to chance both dying :(

Do you have any pics ktar? Id enjoy seeing if your acclimated piece has the whitish tint my healthy one has. I've got my healthy piece in 90par full open light. What about your lighting for it? Thanks :) and btw your a good friend to cut off such a big chunk!

My convict is retired and will not be cut for a while. It is coloring back to it original state. The frags I made do not have the bleach marks on them. They are just not growing at all and don't look to happy. I have had frags with the bleach spots and what I did was put in under my frag racks. So pretty much no light and the spots went away. I hope that helps.

yes thats what im doing. the frags that bleach go into a shaded area until the bleaching goes away. then they can come into the light. the piece shown above that has been acclimated for a year shines almost a whitish color. its really an amazing piece when its happy under the lights
