Hello everyone I purchased this frag a couple weeks back but I can't figure out what type of SPS it is. I'm hoping one of you fine people would be able to help out. I'll post some pics below. Thanks for any help!

Sorry the pics are so blue but the color right now is kinda brown. Near the tips that are showing growth or looks like there is some fluorescent green starting to show.

Stylopora. I have lots of it.

So having this coral for a couple weeks now, is it safe to say I can start moving it up the rocks little by little? What kind of requirements should I adhere to?

Since they are SPS, they do like ample light, but in my tank, they’re in the middle section below the acros. They are one of the easier to care for SPS in my experience!

Talking about lighting, I have been told by my lfs that I have an old school but still great set up with my Nova Extremes 8x54w T5 system for my 120 gal tank. Is he accurate or blowing smoke?

They do best under moderate light and water flow. . . mid to upper tank

temp 77-80
salinity 1.025
ph 8.1-8.3
Nitrate < .04
Phos < .04
Alk 8-9
mag 1300
CA 440

I have experience with only LEDs, so I am not the best to comment on T5s.
But T5s are great lights, as many swear by them and provide one of the best blanket of lights.
Just make sure your fixture provides enough light and your bulb types provide good spectrum.

Others will hopefully chime in about the fixture model :D

Seriatopora Caliendrum or maybe guttatus. Seriatopora are the only corals with polyps in perfectly straight lines. 110% confident that it is not a montipora or stylophora.

S. Guttatus I had in the past. I believe ORA sells it as Green-tip Orange Birdsnest. Pretty coral but grows too fast and lower portions always die off as it grows which can be unsightly, imo.

I’m not so sure about this being a Seriatopora as yours look awfully similar to a purple stylophora. Would need more people to weigh in on this.
