Some of my corals are dying, could it be brown slime?

They where all growing and encrusting.

SG 1.026
MG 1500
Phosphates .12
Nitrates 12ppm
calcium 420
alk 9.3

Potassium 420

What was the last coral you added to the tank ? Did you notice it like that or has it gotten worse?

I can't tell much from your pictures. Could you get some without all the blue and maybe more in focus? That may help get responses. [HASHTAG]#reefsquad[/HASHTAG] can help too.

Anyone believe this is brown jelly?
Yea your going to need a clear photo of everything + a front tank shot assuming theres alot of corals going downhill,Witch contributes to water quality. Did this happen very quickly? You said they were encrusting and have had them for a while, dieoff can trigger more dieoff so i would frag what you could but in the meantime run carbon/polypad and waterchanges untill you get control. Could be brown jelly, not sure if it affects sps, but could be dinos.

Cannot tell anything from pics.

What in your tank routine or maintanance has changed?

Ammonia, nitrates, phosphate?

Water changes/RODI?

Certainly more info is needed!

Agree better pics.
Do a second opinion on your test and check your salt as that can be the issue to.
Not to mention your TDS from your RODI water.

Have you added anything new by change? do you dip new corals and or quarantine them? Any changes to the tank? Power go off? temp drop?

Have anyone had issues with Calcium Chloride from BRS, it's the only thing I've done different before my corals went south?

The last time I had a problem with my sticks was caused by bad readings from redsea mag test and the funny thing is it was telling me 1500 I don't trust Red Sea when it comes to mag so I would say get a different brand and test again I hope I'm wrong but I bet the redsea is wrong.

My acros where Getting like a brown algae like coating and then dying from the base up, same with my bird nests. Like a bacterial infection of some sort.

What test kit are you using for magnesium?

I only use salifert for all test now. Yes the first coral that would let me know something was wrong was my birds nest

That brown algae you are talking about the only time I had got that was when my no3 was very high and po4 was above .10

That may be your problem that high no3. I know for my tank if po4 goes that hi I start to see problems my sticks will start to look a little different
