I have started getting algae on my aquarium, not a bloom but just a film and a couple of hard corals are getting discoloured. So I got a TDS meter and it is reading 32 ppm.

I use a 4 stage RO unit. What is the acceptable level is it exactly 0?

TY Mark

The reading after the DI stage should zero. 32 is way to high what is the TDS prior and after the membrane?

If you have "100" out of the tap, you should have about "3 to 5" out of the RO part. The DI resin should clean the rest and you should have "0".
"0" is the best. If you know exactly what is in anything over "0" then over "0" can be ok. You will need to send the water for testing to be sure.

It seems you have a RO unit with no DI correct? You should expect a 95-97% rejection rate at the end of the RO unit. Knowing the TDS out of tap will give you an idea how efficiently the unit is working. Flow rate, type of membrane, and age of membrane are all variables that can decrease the efficiency of your RO unit.
