How do you evaluate your tanks pod population? I saw some on the glass, but aren’t most hiding on rocks and sand… what’s considered a lot?

Yes, most will be in the rocks. It's hard to say - I have two hungry wrasses and I think they keep the numbers down in my tank.

you can't, you can see if theres a notable lack of pods though.

I too have a hungry wrasse that is on constant patrol for pods and bristleworms. I throw more in the tank from time to time, usually when I am replenishing the rest of my cleanup crew that gets decimated by my flame Hawkfish. I agree, if you see them you have enough.

Glass is only a tiny percent of surface area
. Like others have said if you see them on the glass then you definitely have higher concentrations in your rock and substrate
