Current Nano Setup

Wish my tank wasn’t littered with bristleworms, but nothing I can really do. There are hundreds of them. But they don’t seem to bother anything but my eyes

My JBJ temp controller/heater failed today in the on position. Water was 95 when I got home. Temp was normal this morning. I lost my clown from the temp spike. I did a 50% water change to put water temp back to 78 degrees. LPS are closed so tight. I hope they’ll recover. SPS look a little bleached as well. I wish I had $800 for an apex. Anything else I should do? Was going to replace chemipure blue tomorrow. No heater in tank now, but was going to see what temp was in the morning. 14 gallon tank with large pumps for both skimmer or return pump. Two jeboa pp4s that crank out heat, plus a small hydor power head in the back fuge to move the chaeto around. I think those 5 pumps might be enough to make all the heat the tank needs

Nonetheless, horrible tank day hate losing livestock. Especially to hardware failure

Ouch sorry to hear. I have an apex and its auto shut off for alk failed and dumped 1l in a few month ago. It’s akways something ....

And last night the temp ended up falling to 76 [emoji53]

I put one of my 50watt auto tetra heaters I use for salt mixing in the tank until the stuff I bought from amazon arrives. I still can’t believe the JBJ controller failed. I clean the probe once a month and everything

Sorry to hear bud.. This is one of my fears. I bought a inkbird controller to prevent that. Maybe you should, we all have set backs.... It's how we move forward next time that counts ;) Good Luck

Coral is still all closed up and sps is bleaching. Skimmer isn’t slimming because of the thick goo the corals gave off. Did a 50% water change last night. Should I do another today?

It’s so sad to see the corals dying after two years of thriving

Do a 25% water change today and then in 2 days. Then every week for a few weeks then every 2 weeks is my opinion.

So sad

So sorry to hear this, keep it up you are doing the right things, water changes and fixing the equipment.

I went through a similar issue in my nano years ago, it feels awful. My suggestion would be to be careful with the water parameters and do not do drastic changes. I hope your corals come back soon.

Trying not to do too much too quick. Changed chemipure today. Skimmer is working again, think the viscosity of the water changed with secretions from the coral being nuked. The whole tank was full of goo. Even after a 50% water change. I’ll know more in a few days

I actually don’t positively know who makes the tank. I was told it was a discontinued current tank. I got it new from a store but with no paperwork. I’d like to know as well. I’ve modified the heck out of it though

I kept the rim so I could have a screen on it. I use an AI Prime HD on that tank. I modified the back 1st chamber to be a fuge with chaeto that uses JBJ nanoglow, 2nd stage is for my heater along with my Aquac C Remora S skimmer, along with chemipure blue. 3rd stage is a course sponge to catch chaeto/other large crap. 4th is return pump connected to chiller.

Had another fish die. Parameters are great. 0-1 nitrate. 0 nitrite. 0 ammonia. 1.025 salinity. 78 degrees. Can coral toxins from the high heat kill fish?

Did another 40% water change. Water is still cloudy. I replaced the chemipure blue yesterday. Corals all look like death. Lost another fish today. I am just at my end with this. I’ve had a nuked tank before, but prior it was 105 degrees for two days so it was a complete start over. I’m not sure what to do with a tank full of very sick coral other than water changes
