Current Nano Setup

As I stated in my previous post I opted for a clip on fan instead of a chiller so I can't recommend any. But there have been threads on R2R related to them. You can also ( if you haven't already) start another thread in reference to chillers for a 12 gallon Nano or something like that. :) Good luck, I can see why you might need one with a wood stove in that room they put out some great heat for the winter. I'm sure you'll get some help with your question and I can ( you can too) call in some more #reefsquad members for help as well.

thanks!

Taking off my lid would solve my problem I think but I have a "hyper clown". Need a screen for the little guy but having bowed front corners is an issue.
Is the lid glass or acrylic?

You could try egg crate since you can really shape that to almost whatever you need.

I did some rearranging of my system and thought I'd give everyone an update. My 12 gallon nano is. alittle overkill, but I can't argue with the results. Filtration modifications: 1st stage- Surface and midlevel water input. Chaeto with JBJ fuge light. 2nd chamer. Skimmer (HOB Remora S, heater, chemipure elite (want to change to blue, 3rd chamber, 200 micron sock. Eliminates all air bubbles and cleans niceley. Need to wash every 3 days or so. 4th chamber- Return MJ1200 pumps out to my CSCX-1 chiller, then returns through the default return nozzle. Biological- Chateo, around 4 lbs of rock, and an inch or sand bed. Various snails and crabs. Bioload: clown, bi-color blenny, and a stil shy purple firefish. Tank gets cycled 30x per hour with the assistance of two hydor 850s on a hydor wavemaker set to rotate pumps every minue, More water overturned and oxidezed in Remora-S (MJ1200). I have a DIY screen on top to keep the fish inside where they belong. Now I just want more corals! ready for SPS! but only adding one animal every 2 weeks...so trying to go real slow. No more fish, just coral. Would like a pistol shrimp to pair with my blenny. He loves hiding in LR holes. So yeah, thats whats going on. Had some cyano, but gone now from lights off for 24 hrs and some red slime remover. Dosing 2 part, and would use Red Sea NoS PX4=1 if needed. The red sea nitrate/phosphate remover really helped tank algae out of my other tank, just make sure NOT TO OVERDOSE. Killed a few fish a few years back, but a good product when used as directed. Also, love my Salifert test kits!

Wow! Sounds like you've been busy, how about some pictures:D

I will get some pics up later :)
My computer died so I'm actually on my xbox one. Note to self: check power supply for correct voltage if you have a pile of wires/adapter to make sure the USB hub you want to use is actually paired for the right power supply and you don't want to fry the logic board on your $1500 MacBook Pro. So down to one computer in the house, and I live in a rural area without decent signal so don't presently use a smartphone #oldschool:D

I also fried my 160gb iPod classic (which I loved) just two days prior by it accidentaily making contact with a magnet. Bad tech times right now. At least I have the tank and a wood stove, along with some vaping and an awesome Mate.

Nice! Did you start out with fresh water tanks?? I had them forever and then got up the nerve to try SW. Hooked ever since. Pictures look great:D

I had freshwater as a kid, then post-college I did cichlids. After that I went all salt. The little 4 gallon is the first fresh I've had in 8 years

My house isn't huge and the largest I'd go would be a 75g, but leaning towards the Red Sed E-Max 45G. Complete setup for $1500. That's hard to beat if I were to start from the ground up with new equipment.

I just don't know what to do with the nano that has a sump. It was free years ago, and I don't want to put money into it. Not the greatest setup, but it works...kinda. I hate the MH light on it. I'd sell it if I could find someone local that wanted it

I also have a point of sale 14g with a sump. Not even a sump, a bucket with live rock and return pump, with my old PAR38 light I used to use on my 12g before I got my prime HD. The 14g has been horrible. Not enough filtration. I just changed it up this morning. Got a 3 gal bucket, with 2" of live rock on the bottom, also in that area heater pump, carbon. Covering that is a tight piece of felt. Above that is Live Rock holding the felt in place. Wondering if this will help. I don't want to put a penny into this tank. I'd give it away at it's current state

Now I just need an RBTA for my clown! I had a massive one that died and killed this tank about a year ago. This is the re-boot. There were 4 little baby RBTAs, but haven't seen them :(

I really want to add a sea fan. I used to have one in a previous tank. Considering a purple whip gorgonian. I have tons of flow in the back of my tank and wasn't sure what to put there. I am scared of sponges because of the whole air issue.
