Thank you all for your support!

Managed to get 10 eggs out this afternoon.

Will update the thread as time passes :)

Hopefully that sock wasn't as dirty as the tank! Lol just kidding, that's super awesome. Good luck!

I noticed that both cuttlefish are hiding in the rock work, and probably guarding the eggs.

During the past two days about 8 eggs drifted into the water column/substrate, and I was able to collect them safely. I noticed my emerald eating one egg that managed to drift, and did not think twice about collecting what I can. Interesting to know that emerald crabs are able to eat the ink-drenched cuttlefish eggs.

I have ordered a nursery which is made of mesh netting which have been successful at bringing up hatchling Bandensis from eggs through 2 months. (Ordered 2)

Lets see how this first batch does. They are a young pair of cuttles, and offspring mortality decreases as they get older. I hope to pass some of these out to good reefkeepers when they either get close to hatching, or at the two month mark (due to travelling burden/stress).

Look into their requirements, for this species is the best among cuttlefish to keep in a home aquarium due to size and minimal ink "episodes". If you can keep a well balanced reef system, you can keep a Bandensis...

Great thread!
I had the privilege to spend a day at the Long Island Aquarium and saw behind the scenes, including the cuttle fish breeding set up. It was one of the best days I have ever had in the hobby!

Hope the eggs hatch and you are able to raise the babies. I just got 4 baby cuttles a couple of days ago. They are doing well so far. I'm hoping I can raise them and get some to breed.

So glad I found this thread. I'm seriously tempted to set up a dedicated tank to these guys. So amazing to observe

Brine and ghost shrimp are lacking nutrition for cuttlefish, even when gut loaded. They are food but don't rely on them as the only source (for anyone else interested). Fresh hatched cuttlefish have to have live food and the go to food for the breeders is live mysid shrimp, you can get them online.

The drawf cuttlefish are not prone to escape and are the least likely to ink (except the flamboyant).

If you take the eggs out now, your cuttlefish will expend less energy protecting them and get back to normal life. The eggs are easy to hatch, it's feeding the newborns that are the hardest part.

If you have a male and female, it seems to be very easy to get multiple egg clutches, they pair up easy. Sexing them is difficult.
