post up the parameters, age, equpt info, dosing, chem filtration and maybe an FTS and well all be happy to take a look.

pH 8. 1
Ammonia .1
Calcium 440
Kh 13
Salinity 1.019
It's been set up for 2+ years and I have always had a problem with cyano. Could it be my water I use? It's rodi water but I don't know how good it is since it comes from a power plant. I am running a simple canister filter and don't tell me you don't like it. I know plenty of people with canister filters on saltwater and they have beautiful tanks. I keep the temperature at 79 and the lights run a lot and I have blue lights at night. Once I turned the lights out for a few days and the algae was gone only to come Bach the very next.

canisters you have to keep very clean. I love mine btw. I only use it as mechanical, not biological, and you still have to clean it if you do. "nitrate factory". it will feed back into your tank. we have a few folks here who know some great set ups for that.

how often do you clen the can and how is it set up(whats in each tray)

check the tds on the water, it is likely good.

try turning of the moonlights as you begin to treat with nutrient reduction methods., itll help.

depending on the cyano strain, or spirulina actually itll depend what kind of treatment you use..

what are your No and Po at?

What do you mean by no and Po. I clean the canister every 2 weeks I need to clean it more and I have phosphate remover and charcoal

Nitrate and Phosphate.
Perfect cleaning then. IMO

True... I think I do too much light so I will ease of on the light and what do you suggest on food. I feed flake food and I heard that was not very wise so I thought about going to mysis and stuff

I had cyano a month ago. I was doing chemi pure blue every 3 months and now change it out every two months. Also I got a sand sifter star fish. This method for me got rid of cyano.

I do pellets one day and frozen mysis the next day and rotate. I only have four fish so I cut the cube in fours and only feed 1/4 every other day.

Is your sand red or is it red slime?

Chemiclean does the trick in a day or two but won't be a long term solution if something else is going on. How old are your lights? When is the last time you changed your rodi filters?

My tank is 2+ years old and I don't have a rodi filter I get it from somewhere else and my light are new but they aren't expensive. Really all I need is a quick fix to hold me over until I get some more stuff
