Day at the Beach (non-reef)

Here's a ton of pics from the other day at Dog Beach, some are ok, some not so great, but figured I'd put them up anyways (finally upgraded to photobucket pro, so totally enjoying the unlimited bandwith...) The better ones were most likely taken by my gf, the not so great ones were most assuredly my doing, hehe.
Most of these first pictures are not actually of the beach area, but where the San Diego River empties out and connects to the ocean. Enjoy and please feel free to comment

yea, I do some basic processing, sort of have to because everything is taken in a RAW format so have to at least develop them, usually touch the white balance up to what looks the most realistic, and some cropping depending on the picture. No fine tune touch ups, just work on the pic as a whole.

you sand diego eh my brother is station down their at balboa he works at the hospital navy guy. Any how your shots are pretty good i like how all of your horizons are pretty level. I hate when i take shots and then the horizon or whatever is slanted. You need to bump up that shutter speed to catch that bird frozen with out that motion blur what kind of lens were you using? And one more thing where's the sunset. I love sunset shots

wow nice shots I am stuck inside ..it is cold and grey outside what i would give to have a beach close by to just go walk the dog or just to take pictures ..here in michigan all I have is the television and the pc to pass time and that is getting old just like me..

I guess I take the beach for granted. It is just a normal thing to go there. Even in the winter (sometimes). Beautiful pics. Makes me want to go spend some money at bass pro on some new tackle. It is time to go fishing again!

Hah...the one is a purebred Italian Greyhound, who's barely one year old, and yea, she acts like a kangaroo on some serious illegal drugs. The other (brown guy) is a mix/mutt of sorts, my gf claims he's half IG and half Beagle, but he was an adoption so no real idea.

I"m 6'3 and about 260- you don't want to see me in a bikini :bigsmile: these pics are all from the local Dog Beach, so mostly just folks running their dogs around and stuff. During January San Diego usually gets a few warm spurts with high 70 temperatures and the bikini's come out in droves pretty fast, but febuary is our cold and rainy season (it'll probably rain about 8-10 days this month :cry: ) Have some more, a few might even have more "real" water shots in them, but the big dogs tend to hang in the waves so my gfs little ones stick to the river where they don't get ran over as much.

Nice pics! looks like a nice day :0 i would go to dog beaches more but my dog is sooooo old and doesnt do those types of things anymore. but i agree with Mimicocto8 i thought it was a kangaroo at first lol. but i like those pics because the dog looks like its sooo excited to be there and letting out its energy. sooo cute
