Dead clownfish HELP!

I'm so sorry. Your story scares me a little. Hubby and I are headed to Costa Rica soon and leaving my 19 year old in charge. I'm a freaked out and I haven't even left yet! Tell your BIL to keep doing water changes and let your CUC do their job.
It's really hard to explain to someone to do a water change that doesn't know much about saltwater. Worse part is, I didn't make enough Rodi water for mixing a full 15% I only left 5gallons. :( think my skimmer will take the heat for the hit of ammonia? I'm buzzing lol me and my wife put a ton of sweat and blood into this hobby and we are both finally on a well deserved vacation and this had to happen while we are here. My BiL won't be able to handle water changes and mixing to the temp and salinity.. So I'm definitely scared of the reprocussion of no water changes...

Do you have any friends in the hobby or know the folks at your lfs that can help?

Friends are to scared to get into the hobby for these reasons lol and my LFS I go to is closed today opens tomorrow I even left the owner messages on her cell, we are quite close, so I was hoping she'd give me a hand, but unfortunately I'm sure I'm stuck without water changes for 6days when I return from vacation

Well sorry to see you guys going through this while your on vacation. If you lived in Wichita I would try to help the BIL out.

Sorry for your loss. Hope it turns out ok. We travel a couple times a year and out of country. We always set up emergency number with LFS owner before we leave for our house sitter just in case. We had a 6”
Trigger die last year while we were in Ireland. My house sitter had a really hard time getting it out but she did. It was so sad. I learned the hard way a few years ago to have a back up plan just In case something goes wrong while we are gone. It’s strange
But I worry more about fish and reef than dogs! I’m really sorry you are going thru this. Wish you the best and hope the tank takes care of the ammonia itself. Keep us updated. Sounds like a disease to me also by the way. We wish you luck.
