I’ve done a fair bit of research on the pages here and decided rather than continuing to replace my DI every 100 gallons or less, I want to try degassing. I am probably going to NOT use the gravity method since I don’t believe I will be able to get the RO water high enough to push it through the DI. With that being said, what kind and how powerful a pump would be suggested to move the RO through the DI and into storage? Would love your input and any pictures of your degassing set up. Happy 4th Everyone!

I built a degassing chamber back in late december or early janurary.

It has been flawless. I only have about 3 foot of head above my di. I have yet to change my resin and ive made countless ro water!

Its def. worth the little bit it cost to build for sure.

I think ive posted here before but never did go back and update with pics.

I'm sure I saw your avatar on some of the pages I was researching. :) So you are only using gravity to feed into your DI? I am concerned that if I try gravity, it won't work then I have a Brute can with a hole it in. Granted if I plumb it correctly to begin with it shouldn't leak regardless, if I have to try using with a submersible pump later.
Would love to see your pics. I have one bulk package of DI- 7 canisters worth; to use up (which won't take long) to contemplate my set up options. Thanks for your reply. I knew posting on a holiday might not get a lot of views or replies.

Sorry for the delay!

Once the water comes thru my ro it goes to the bottom of my degass. I have a ap300 air pump running two airlines at the bottom thru two bubblers.
Then on the wye it drops back thru my resin then out to my trashcans.

Its been making water since the beginning of the year or late december of 2017 and i still have a 1/4 di resin left.

Before i built this i bought a extra set of di containers but i dont have anough head pressure to run all three. So im only using one.

cool
so the water goes all the way to the bottom and then fills up like 4 ft to the Y pipe??

No worries. Thanks for the visual. So this is completely gravity fed to the DI? How long would you say the water is in the tube for before going to the DI?

To be honest im not sure. I have my hose ran all the way to the bottom of the tube so it has to com out and push up.

But everything is gravity. No pumps.
