DendroPhyllia Fragging. Help?

Here is my colony. Have had about 8 new babies popping out, but they seem to be attached to "parent" polyps/heads.

How do I go about splitting it up when I am ready to sell some...?

It's not spreading onto the plug... is it possible to frag if the polyps are overlaying each other like seen above?

Nice little colony you have there. How long have you had it? I started out with a two head frag and a little over a year it’s starting to look like yours. I to would like to know how to frag these.

My girl got it for me for my birthday in August. It had 4 adult polyps and 2 pencil eraser-sized babies. The rest have grown out in the last 5 months.

Yes it is possible to frag these. When you shake it in the water it take it out of the water you will see the skeleton. You will need to use a coral bandsaw or a Dremel tool with a diamond blade to cut between the polyp skeleton...

However, let me be brutally honest. Usually these corals don't last more than a couple of months due to the care level is considered to be more on the expert side because they are not sustained due to the amount of feedings they need. Now if you are able to provide the food that they need they will last a long time be a beautiful coral eventually the skeleton won't grow like any other LPS Coral Aiken or are they like and it will spread but they grow very slowly

Now I am not saying it is not possible to keep them alive just hard to.

Well it's going on 7 months and I started with 6 heads. I'm up to 13 now.

They get LRS FRENZY nano, mysis, brine shrimp, phyto(iso and nano), and reef roids.

Thanks for the advice on the cutting, sounds like typical fragging. I thought there may be a different technique than the usual for polyps that are overlapping like they are here.

Also remember when feeding that much. Keep up with water changes.

Yep just like regular fragging. The polyps are just packed closer together.

I have access to a fragging bandsaw at my lfs, hes never done dendro that's packed in tight like this so he is hesitant.

I rinse the food and target feed, so not much goes to waste. I have to protect the food I give it from my zebra tang, wrasse, and psuedo. Little thieves. ;Shifty

That was one of my favorite purchases. (Inland bandsaw) dont be nervous now you might loose a polyp but what you gain is better than that polyp loss. Itll be great. Be sure to keep us updated

Also small container with saltwater and couple drops of Iodine can help the healing tissue.

Hey everyone. Wanted to give an update. I'm in the middle of plumbing a new sump system for my 125g, so I'm busy with that. But I wanted to update for those who care...

To my dismay, the dendro is continuing to spread, on itself. No polyps have ventured out onto the 4" square I have them on.
