Hi guys, i’ve Just started this new 20 gallon Fowlr, I’ve got 2 poweheads, plenty of live rock, and one HOB filter (the media in this filter was from an established tank) so its supossed to be cycled, or seeded) it’s been 2 weeks since I put the seeded media on it, I have one molly there which is doing fine, eating and picking at algae from the live rock, well, to make it easy, right Know I have a diatom problem, first, the live rock got a little brown, mostly where the light is hitting it, then these little things started to reproduce or i don’t know what in the live sand, and now it’s growing all over the glass, what should I do? Should I get a clean up crew? If so, what should I get? Or should I get a sump? Im using RODI btw, I don’t know what to do, I would appreciate the help, thanks In advance guys!:)

Welcome to reef2reef!

Typical "new tank uglies". If it's diatoms, it could be fueled by your sand or rock. Diatoms need silicate to build their structures. What kind of sand do you have?

Thanks! well, it’s a mix of crushed coral and aragonite I think might be wrong, but it comes from a well established tank
