Diatoms? Brown Algae?

Can you tell me what this is? I have had a tank cycling for 2 months and never really saw Diatoms like I was supposed to. I have 40lbs of base rock then and just added 25lbs of Fiji live rock. (I used live sand during the initial cycle and an 8lbs live rock) Anyway, I put in this new 25 lbs 3 days ago and now I have this going on. The "brown" rock was all bleach white 3 days ago.

I should also mention it's a lot darker than this in person, the camera just wont play nice. It's definitely more brown and thicker than it appears here.

OK, cool. Do they get longer? Trying to figure out what comes next. If my water parameters are all reading normal no need to do a bunch of water changes right?

Added 25 lbs of live rock. For the previous two months, I had live sand with 40 lbs of dry/dead/base rock along with a 8.5lbs piece of live rock.

I am happy it's normal. I thought I had something out of whack but everything was testing at 0 so I didn't know what was going wrong.

you can drop snails or whatever clean up crew to help with the eye sore as you see fit but it happens to all of us
