Velvet. You need to act now, there's good info on this site on treatments. Did you just buy this Achilles?

Thanks, he's in Cupramine now so hoping he recovers. Thanks for the ID guys, been reading up on treatment all night.

Are you asking from a different account than the one you started the thread with? For Cupramine you're going for .50 with a max of .60.

That was my brother posted for me. This is my fish, we weren’t sure what it was, i thought it is velvet too but need a clear id. Weird no other fish infected. there are queen angel, passer, blue line, Sohal, banner, porcupine puffer, blue angel and unicorn tang.

How long has the fish been in the display? Any other fish added with it? Was it quarantined before it went in?

That's good, but how many other fish do you have in your system? When did you get the Achilles?

Achilles doing well from my reef tank for 2 weeks then I transferred him to my Fowler. This happened fast in 1 day. First 2 days did not show any sign at all. He was clean then covered in 12 hours when I got home last nite.

Achilles is an expert level fish, it wasn't ever treated in quarantine? What size system is this with these fish in it? Your other fish will likely be infected too, it spreads very quickly.

That is not going to work well with rock and substrate. It's going to be very hard to keep it at therapeutic levels also other parasites can get trapped in substrate or anaerobic areas and survive medications. Also once finished you will have that rock leaching out copper for some time, making it difficult to add inverts if you ever wish to.

Totally aware of this. This is just Fowler no inverts at all. I just have to monitor copper daily if not every 12 hours to keep up with level. Hope he’ll pull through. Thanks

Definitely will. Do you still run skimmer white dosing copper? Assuming skimmer won’t skim copper out.

I am still running skimmer as to take out waste
