Well...can it be done? I was thinking of having some kind of mesh attached to the glass right above the water surface of my planned 10 gallon refugium and right under the overflow tubing (so that the water and the splashing from the overflow hit the mesh). The tank will be lit with several 5000K, 1600 lumen LED bulbs. There will also be macroalgae in the tank and a deep sand bed, but there is unlikely to be a shortage of nutrients because this is a non photosynthetic coral tank and needs all the nitrate and phosphate removal it can get :) Thanks for your thoughts!

One of the easier things to DIY. Not sure if there is one here, but there are a couple of very long ATS threads on RC. I've made all of mine ..... going back to the mid 1990s
