Can anyone who has a yellow assessor comment? I really want one, but can't find a definitive answer on whether they jump or not. I do have a a cover on my tank but a firefish and dottyback both still managed to find the 1/2 inch gaps so want to avoid that whole situation again.

Although I have no experience with these fish I've read of their peculiar inverted swimming habit and that seems to suggest that they would dart in any given direction, I'm sure that would include up.

I had a blue for a long time. Never jumped that I know of but I had an enclosed tank.

Why do you want an Assessor? It's not a great fish, not much movement or personality.

I disagree. Assessors are my favorite fish by far. I currently have 6.

All fish can jump, and assessors are no exception. I have seen mine jump a handful of times over the years, mostly when they were newer to the tank. Once settled and comfortable they are less prone to jump and they are constantly swimming in and around the rocks. Very entertaining fish, IMO.

All fish can jump, all tanks need a mesh lid.
