I've noticed my trochus snails congregating together at times. Is it known why they do this? In my DT a group has started forming under a rock that is touching the back of the tank, I've seen them wedge in there for days at a time and now I see in my QT there is a group of 5 that has all congregated next to a cleaning magnet. Maybe they're getting ready to spawn?

The funniest thing is that when a trochus snail climbs on another one and gets a free ride. Then they try and shake the other one off, kinda doing the booty shuffle, LOL!!!

Or would it be called the shell shuffle, LOL!!!

Yup, my trochus will pow wow from time to time. I've always assumed it was a mating thing. I get baby trochus showing up in my sump once and awhile. 95% of the time the trochus are scattered from end to end of the tank.

My nasarrius snails seems to stay in the general vicinity to each other most of the time. Like the same 1/4 of a 6' tank.

My 2 tiger conchs stay fairly close to each other most of the time but are all over the place.

The 2 or three vermitid snails I have don't ever seem to congregate. lol
