I'm just wondering if anyone ever bothers to gives their fish names? Thought about it, but there doesn't seem to be much of a point to it. My girlfriend has been on my case of me referring to my fish as 'they/them/it', and don't name them. She ended up calling my lemonpeel angel Mr. Snicket.

Agreed...I lost several in quarantine due to an ich outbreak and a couple in quarantine before making it into the DT. Since Oscar the McCoskers died 2 days before getting to go into the DT, I've tried to not name them before they go into the DT, but I hate calling them "new guy" lol.Naming does make the dying harder. I came downstairs one morning to my little boy yelling "Daddy Daddy, Jeff is eating Jake!" RIP Jake![]()
Oh! I forgot I also have Moby the Goby (hopefully he's still in there hiding in the sand- haven't seen him in a while) and Holly & Molly (yep, they're Black Mollies, lol)Absolutely they all get names! I was even naming my CUC until I got too many!
My first clowns were Joker and Harley, my PJ Cardinal was Barry, my Fairy Wrasse was Picasso, and my first snails were Larry, Moe, and Curly.
Still have the following:
Clowns - Bonsai & Sushi (yeah, I know...)
Springeri Damsel - Blue
Banghai Cardinal - Zoom
Royal Gramma - Arthur
Lemon Peel Dwarf Angel - Sam Fisher
Midas Blenny - Lenny (yes, Lenny the Blenny)
Pink Streaked Wrasse - Oliver
And Beauregard, the Cleaner Shrimp
I just got a Snow Storm Clown still in QT that I'm trying to decide between Storm or Chaos...
I recently got my first coral, and my family asked if I was gonna name it, too!
