Does Anyone Name Their Fish?

Yes, but not right away, their names just kind of evolve. Although I did name the Green Mandarin Jimi Hendrix

I'm just wondering if anyone ever bothers to gives their fish names? Thought about it, but there doesn't seem to be much of a point to it. My girlfriend has been on my case of me referring to my fish as 'they/them/it', and don't name them. She ended up calling my lemonpeel angel Mr. Snicket.

I name everything lol! Got 2 Wyoming white clowns and they are named Jon Snow and Ghost.

I name everything after it shows it is going to survive... I have a Frostbite and Domino Clown Pair named Scarface and War (Scarface used to be paired with Capone but she was Homicidal and had to go). My lawnmower blenny is Hudson after gargoyles, I have an electric blue damsel who used to be named katana ... Until we realized it was a boy and he was named Katano lol. A clown goby named Steven. Then I have a Purple Dotty back named Prince. I name coral and inverts. I have Fabio the Favia, mushroomS named Hoorah, Beach ball then Level up... One up ect. I have a conch named Snuffy, a peppermint shrimp named Scraggy a hermit crab named Sebastian, A turbo snail name Snoop. In my park tank I have a purple fotty named Rain, All of the hermit crabs and snails In the park tank have been named by the kids with regular human names like... Fred, Luis, Mark Sam and so on. Also all my fresh water fish are named.i have also named my Husband and soms purple Fire fish Morris because he ticks at me like Morse code. I named a friends fish Stanley and it remains the only named fish in the tank lol

Naming does make the dying harder. I came downstairs one morning to my little boy yelling "Daddy Daddy, Jeff is eating Jake!" RIP Jake :(
Agreed...I lost several in quarantine due to an ich outbreak and a couple in quarantine before making it into the DT. Since Oscar the McCoskers died 2 days before getting to go into the DT, I've tried to not name them before they go into the DT, but I hate calling them "new guy" lol.

Absolutely they all get names! I was even naming my CUC until I got too many!
My first clowns were Joker and Harley, my PJ Cardinal was Barry, my Fairy Wrasse was Picasso, and my first snails were Larry, Moe, and Curly.

Still have the following:
Clowns - Bonsai & Sushi (yeah, I know...)
Springeri Damsel - Blue
Banghai Cardinal - Zoom
Royal Gramma - Arthur
Lemon Peel Dwarf Angel - Sam Fisher
Midas Blenny - Lenny (yes, Lenny the Blenny)
Pink Streaked Wrasse - Oliver
And Beauregard, the Cleaner Shrimp

I just got a Snow Storm Clown still in QT that I'm trying to decide between Storm or Chaos...

I recently got my first coral, and my family asked if I was gonna name it, too!
Oh! I forgot I also have Moby the Goby (hopefully he's still in there hiding in the sand- haven't seen him in a while) and Holly & Molly (yep, they're Black Mollies, lol)

Yes, but because my kids wanted to:

Clowns: Marlin & Nemo ( not both male but whatever)
Yellowtail Black Blenny: Benny
Royal Gramma: Grams
Six Line Wrasse: Sassa Wrassa (Inside joke: When my daughter would be sassy I would caller sassa-frassa)
Yellow Tail Damsel: Judy Dench

lol, my eight year old daughter names everything. She even wanted to name individual hermit crabs.

Clownfish - Clownie and Stripes
Royal Gramma - Bashful
Firefish - Fire
Blue Green Chromis - Ice (added at the same time as the firefish)

After losing Elvis, our blue chromis, we decided it would be less upsetting if we no longer named them. So the only fish we've purchased since, a Fiji blue devil damsel, is Voldemort.
