Hi All.
I’ve started running Chemi-pure elite for nuisance diatoms (it does seem to work) although I’m wondering wether carbon/chemipure affects/alters KH levels I’ve been running it for about 3 weeks and my KH has gone down to as low as 7.6.
My KH yesterday 8.3 after W/C
Today 8.1. Both Tests done at same time. Significant drop since yesterday???
Thanks all.
Emma. Xx

Likely consumption has increased. Water clarity has a lot to do with increased light and better overall quality for coral health/growth. That's my assumption when this happens to me.

I prefer to run my alk in the high 7's so me personally would not do anything.. If this is a new tank I would not be trying to use gfo or carbon at all though and let the tank do its thing.

Hi the tank is about 3 years old.
I’m only using the carbon for diatoms, it seems to work . Shall I leave the gfo in the sump then or remove you think?
