Just trimmed my chaeto and decided to put it in a rubbermaid bin until I can take it to the lfs. It's currently got light and water movement but no heat (its probably around 65 degrees). I'd like it to survive and maybe even grow a little, what is the bare minimum it will need? Does it even need water movement? Also should I add some fish food or something for nutrients? Thanks!

I had some in a 5g I was using to grow pods. Just an air stone. No heater. No light. No flow. Occasionally threw in bits of pellets. It survived for about a mth. Didn’t grow. Eventually started to rot. Should be fine temporarily

Thanks for the reply! It's been surviving for about a week so far but I guess I should get rid of it soon. So I suppose if I want it to grow (which isn't all that important to me) I'd want a heater and a pump then.

No idea about the heater but I’d assume you want some kinda movement in the water to prevent stagnation. My air pump provided a bit of movement but not enough evidently.
