I have a cadlights 100gallon. it has two holes, and I am interested in drilling an exta 1" hole to create a herbie system.
Anyone had experience doing it ?

You'll first have to determine if the glass you want to drill is tempered. If it's not, then you can look at drilling it. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube that can guide you through this. Or, you can take the tank to a glass company and see if they can drill it for you.

Drilling glass is a slow process. You will need a good quality diamond hole saw, a variable speed drill, constant water supply for drilling and about 15-30 minutes per hole. This is not a process than can be rushed. If you rush it (especially at the end) you will break/chip the glass. Trust me I know from experience. Drilled a 75g and on the 4th and last hole I rushed the last maybe 64th inch of the hole and cracked the panel. Had to scrap the tank and got another one and start all over. Last thing to note is make sure you have enough space between the holes to not crack the glass at those points and for the bulkheads to be able to seal.

As @T-J recommended there are a ton of videos on Youtube about it. Since your tank already has two holes in the bottom, that panel is safe. It is unlikely that the other panels are tempered but you never know, but there are ways to find out prior to drilling. Last thing you want to do is start drilling and have the panel explode on you if it's tempered.
