Hello, today is rolled one of my tanks, but when the drill cane through it took some glass with it. The hole is still perfect but some glass came of the other side. Is it

Hello. Bummer. Any photos?
Oh sorry forgot to add them

You pushed too hard on the drill as it was close to the end. It's more than just a small flake, it looks like some chunks almost 1/4 of the glass thickness are missing.

Normally I'd say just use plenty of silicone grease to make sure the gaskets make a decent seal, but I've circled the part that would worry me. I could see that growing into a stress crack and compromising the whole side pane.

Should I buy a new tank.

That one chip marked above does look concerning but I have seen worse that never caused a problem. I agree- too much pressure as the drill bit passed thru final layer of glass.
This is a hard one to answer. I would not want to say “it should be fine” and then you have issues down the road. So it comes down to your own decision but hey “It’ll probably be ok ”

Should I buy a new tank.
What kind of tank is that? It looks long and skinny. Is it a 55? If it's something common and more or less cheap, then yeah I'd say replace it.

If it's a more expensive tank, maybe wait for a consensus on whether or not it's likely to rupture, but we're just the internet, you're the one that has to be able to sleep at night.

The tank is a 29 gallon tank. My bulkheads will be arriving soon, i think I will add the bulkhead and add water to see if it will drip. If it doesn’t leak, and the bulkheads cover the crack I will add some silicone, and call it fine.

+1. I agree with the suggestion that there was too much pressure at the end right for the drill went the the glass as well as the suggestion that it is a borderline concern - might be an issue, might not.

If the bulkhead covers the crack completely does it still have a high risk of cracking in the future.

if the bulkhead and gasket cover the clam shaped chip then that will prevent leaks but won’t limit the risk of a future crack.

Ok I will most likely replace it, but I also want to add that these are just chips none have any dot of crack.

When drilling my tank the end kind of chipped, should I get a new tank? No crack of any sort. The new tank would cost $60.
