Hello, everyone.

I've watched videos on quieting a standard noisy overflow, so I've built a DIY durso pipe (like the one on the Vivid Aquariums youtube channel).

I can syphon water from tank (through the U) into the overflow box, but I don't know how to start the syphon up through the durso pipe.

Please advise.

Thanks!

I don't think you need to do anything. the stand pipe has to be 1 inch lower than the grid of the overflow box. too low you will have a lot of noise. Just fill the tank water and the durso will drain the water assuming you do it correctly. Any pictures will help :-)

No need to start a siphon, the standpipe will be submerged once the overflow box is filled to working level.
