Electrical current and algae

Does anyone have any info on a situation I've noticed? I had a titanium heater that has gone bad. Not sure how long but after a few days I noticed my corals not acting as normal and startEd to get more algae than normal. Put my hand in the tank and got a NICE jolt out of it. Question is, will electrical current kill the good bacteria in our systems? Thanks.

Possibly. But corals reacting is probably due to electricty. Algae is probably due to metals like iron becoming more available. Electricty makes things rust faster, rust is iron, algae need iron. But may be becaise it killed something and algae is using it to grow.
