Has anybody here used Elos test kits and are they worth the extra cost?
I like the fact that they are titration instead of colorimetric and that each batch is NIST tested.
I have been using Red Sea and have been quite happy. The tests have been pretty consistent and the colors aren't too bad to differentiate, other than the pH in the higher range.
I am in the market for Ca and Mg and I can get the Red Sea reef foundations for $37 which covers Ca, Mg, and alkalinity (which I already have) or the Elos Ca and Mg for $54. I've seen test kit comparisons that put both kits on par for accuracy, but I'm not sure if the Elos is worth the extra $17 for the two tests just to not do the color comparison (which doesn't really bother me, I can differentiate the colors fairly well). I'd like some opinions on the simplicity of the Elos and how it compares to the Red Sea if you have used it, or any other opinions on Elos (or Red Sea) in general.
