Encrusting monti?

Sorry for bad pic it's kind of a copper reddish brown with orange dots, it was on the bottom part of a birds nest I bought today is it a monti?

The thing that's confusing are the very obvious eyes that montis don't have.

Birdsnest are pretty good a t stinging neighbors. Could be that it's a very irritated chalice.
