Not much these days, I sent out alot of frags in trades before i sold any.
Thats the first pic i seen of any coming in, Thats if its valid that it did come in and not grown from a frag. I could grow a colony like that in 6 mos.

yeah, very true.
IMO, those don't look exactly like true PD polyps. to me.......subtle differences make a big difference in my eyes. but i know many people who are on the business side don't care about these subtle differences in corals tht are very similar.
I never had any that had white mouths I sent out about 40-50 frags after I got mine from Raptor, mine did have the bright blue skirts though. Under the highest lighting I could put them under they never had white mouths but those are cool though......
That wild colony shot posted is actually a different morph, not Purple Deaths. They have been going around as "fake" PDs for some time now. Their growth rate is even faster than the original PDs. They look nice though, regardless and I wouldn't mind a frag of it but should be noted that they are different.

The link in the previous post belongs to a coral collector and is just something I saw while searching around the net. He does not call them PD, but that is what I thought when I saw them. Can you guys point out what you think is different? Take a look again at the photos on zoaid.

The mouth looks white when open and photographed. Also remember these others are wild so they are not fully colored, and are not completely opened up all the way. Also, these are in a holding tank under less than ideal lighting with what appears to be detritus on the polyps and dying sponges on the rock. Think how they would look under 14k or 20k lighting. Also, if these fake PD have been going for awhile, someone has to have them so lets see some pictures to compare.
Whether these are the same as PD or not isn't really important to me. Both are nice regardless. I just want people to think outside the box a little.
