I've been browsing around craigslist lately just for fun searching aquarium and reef supplies and actually think I may have found a good deal? Has anyone ever had experience with this lights? I read some reviews and they all seem very good... They also seem to go for around $400 new or more, if I end up meeting the guy and they work do you think this would be a good deal? I've wanted LED/ cycling lights since I've set my aquarium up but haven't set aside $600+ yet for them due to purchasing everything else to set it up.

Here is the description and picture, thanks in advance!

48" Coralife compact fluorescent lights. 4-65W bulbs. 24 hour light cycle with led night lights an desperate power cords for each light setting. Can be used for either saltwater or freshwater aquariums. $75 or best offer.

Depends on what your plans for the aquarium are? Fish only or softy and lps tank it wouldn't be to bad!

Right now and probably for atleast the next 6-8 months I plan on just doing FOWLR... Depending on how everything goes I would really like to add some soft and more simple/ easy to take care of lps eventually. By that time though maybe I'll have a better light setup.

I'm still overwhelmed by the fish and all the other equipment I've been learning about lol

I also found this, not sure how reliable or good it would be. For FOWLR I'm sure it would be fine. As far as any corals I'm not too sure?

I just love the look of led also compared to regular fluorescent bulbs... So if it's not suitable for corals or anything I have no problem holding off on them until I get a good quality light... Which I don't really plan on getting them anytime soon though :)

forget the first one a waste of money, you can get a t5 for the same price and its a much better type of light

@reefs as far as the t5 would I just be buying a bulb to put into my existing fixture or is it the whole set-up? If you have any links to them I would appreciate it.

Right now I have a 55G... Like I said I don't plan on adding any coral or anything for a few more months, I just like having the cycling lights and how much nicer they make the aquarium look. Right now I honestly don't want to spend more than $200 and even that's pushing it for me... I've spent a ton the past few months getting everything going lol...Down the road I wouldn't mind spending the $500+ that the lights seem to be.

If you are really just looking for something to hold you over until you can buy the light that you want and plan on growing coral with, you can pick up a 2 bulb 48" T5 fixture for around $100 on amazon.
