Hi Everyone, I have a 55 gallon tank running now with no sump, first tank in like 20 years like this. I would like to add a sump and years ago I used the CPR and when the power went off it most of the time would not restart and made a mess. I am wondering it the Eshops will restart if the power goes out, if I do this I will have a sump big enough to hold the water, and will hook it up to an Apex so hopfully if things go bad it will shut everything g down.

What I want to Know Do they work and are they reliable ??

Mine is almost 2 years now without a hiccup. When I lose power or shut it off for a WC and restart, the siphon starts right up again. I replace the U-tube about twice a year, at $8 it's easier to replace than trying to clean off algae and coralline. I've heard about flooding because of a siphon break, but I don't see how that would happen, my return section would run dry before any flooding.

The Eshopps and Lifereef overflows are extremely reliable when set up properly. I wouldn't wish a CPR on my worst enemy, they are horrible design and a disaster waiting to happen.
