Hi fellow reefers. I just discovered I have a Euclid worm infestation. I had a new coral tank set up and I have 5 fish that I transferred from my 3 year old reef tank, along with a clam and a blue Xenia. I purchased 5 coral frags and dipped them all in insecticide. kept them in a quarantine tank for 7 days and re-dipped them again before adding them to the new coral tank. My tank looked great for 8 weeks.

Then I had to purchase snails to help control algae. one week after I purchased these snails I noticed a couple of tiny worms, then red hair algae, then tube worms, and a few long flower type algae strings attached to the snails back. All of these algae's and worms started growing on the snails backs, except for the 2 tiny Euclid worms that I think I saw one coming out from the inside of a snails shell...so I know they all came from the snails...well now, it has been a few months and I found out that these worms that have been growing and multiplying are Euclid worms (very bad). Does anyone know a natural predator? Or a reef safe medication?

I need to eradicate these Euclid coral eating worms. BTW, do they also eat fish?

P.S. I still inspect my 3 year old tank nightly and these Euclid worms do not exist in this tank. So I know I did not transfer it from my other tank.

The biggest ones (6 that I have found) are 2-4 inches... but very skinny. Then there are lots at 1/8 to 1/2 inch long. They seem to only come out after lights out.

Yeah, you won't see them out in the day. There may be a good species of wrasse that will get the smaller ones.
