I’m not certain what’s going on with my octospawn, we got it on Sunday and it looked great at the frag swap. I got it home and dipped it and it was angry as I expected it to be, but it’s not opening back up. In fact it’s receding pretty bad.

I dipped it in CoralRx for the recommended time and rinsed it.

I have noticed any Brown Jelly on it or around it, but it still is angry. I’ve got it in a pretty low area of flow and it’s under T5 lighting.

Do they take awhile to recover or am I SOL?

Here is the picture from tonight

That looks like there is membrane missing on two parts of lower side. Plus It Looks like the mouth is extremely enlarged. I know if either of those statements are correct you are having serious issues. It takes a while for my octos to start fully opening up. I will also say ALWAYS DIP NEW CORALS! To not dip can cause far worse issues than possibly one coral dying. I hate to say that but It is a hard lesson learned by me many years ago. Even so one egg can still potentially destroy alot of hard work and money. If you were to post a bit better pics and your parameters too I could be of better assistance to you. I will also say that during acclimation I find lower light and flow to be best for me. I run 8 bulb t5s and XHOs though. I hope in your statement you meant to say that you haven't seen any BJ around it or on it? If you have found BJ dip again and turkey baste off any dead tissue.
