I bought this euphyllia as a very small head of what looked like Ancora. As it’s that’s it’s grown out substantially over the past 8 months I do not think it’s a hammer.
What kind of euphyllia do you think this is and from which region?!

Looks like a bubble coral but I’m most likely wrong

Appreciate the response. It’s a branching coral. I don’t think it’s a standard bubble coral but maybe it’s just a kind I haven’t ever seen before

Verrry nice, whatever it is. Not like any euphyllia I’ve seen, resembles ancora the most I think, almost looks like a hybrid. Got photos of it in the earlier stages?

Thanks for the reply. I have 3500 pictures of my corals on my phone but for some reason I can’t find any of this that date back! What the heck...

I believe it's a hammer with exaggerated polyps. You'd have to see the skeleton to see for sure, bubble coral has a distinct structure. If it retracts try to get a few pics.

It rarely, if ever retracts enough to get a picture of the skeletal structure. They polyps seem very densely packed and close to the skeleton compared to other euphyllia in my tank/experience. I have also noticed it’s quck to drop a polyp or two if I’m handling it. Just observations...
These photos probably don’t shed any light.

From the last pics, I'm going with euphyllia paranchora. That's some awesome color.
Thanks for your input! Yeah it has some interesting colorization for sure.
are you basing the ID on the polyp shape or are you noticing something on the structure?
