Okay so my torch at first was going great but now he seems to look curly and “deflated” the tentacles extend downwards and not upwards. He is placed at bottom of my tank. No matter where I place him he seems to look sad and upset. At night I can see them retracted very far with no tenticles out. I have a 20 gallon tank with a 250gph powerhead pointed from the back of the tank towards the front glass at an upwards angle. My tank has coralline algae all over the place and it is 5 months old. I just need some help. Should I leave my corals alone? I am about to start dosing to maintain levels to prevent too much fluctuations. For lighting I have a Kessil a160 that is 10 inches above water surface and it is acclimating on day 2 of 5 at 25% intensity max because I thought my lighting was the issue. Please give some feedback and advice. Greatly appreciated and thanks in advance. My water parameters are:
PH: 8.2
Calcium: 340
Phosphate: 0
Alkalinity: 9kh
Nitrates: 15
Nitrites: 0
Ammonia: 0

What is the total flow with return and the 250 gph ph? They dont like being battered by strong uni directional flow but need enough to clear detritus and assist with capturing food from the water column.
Sidenote
In the past when my frogspawn looked sad; a medium size water change (~20%) tended to perk it back up.

How long have you had this torch? Are there any other corals in your tank you’re concerned about, or that have started going downhill?

A photo might help, too.

Also, what do you plan to start dosing?

I have a fully stocked 20L and I have never dosed, I just maintain levels with water changes (mostly LPS though so lower demand for stability).

I have had this torch for 5 days and I don’t have a pic of him all curly. It’s just his tentacles point straight down and I plan to start dosing alk and calcium using a calculator to know how much to dose daily to keep levels constant
