I have a lot of slimy green algae and green hair algae in my refugium, is that ok to leave? Or should I try to keep the refugium to cleaner algae like chaeto and so on?

This particular question is pretty much opinion. So the bad algaes will definitely keep your water clean just the same But there is always the possibility that they make it into your display. I think a lot of people would keep removing them so as to avoid that. Myself personally, my refugium is a display so I would keep them out because I look at it all the time. Unless they happen to look good and which case I might leave them.If yours is hidden from view Leaving them would not be as big of an issue as long as they do not make it to your display. I think most people would try to remove them. But it is entirely up to you

merci

I too have many of Caulerpa algae in my refuge and I also ask myself
Should I Keep ALL THESE algae?
I Think That yes but I'll see more long-term
here
Thank you

If it bothers you then remove it. But you can always do that later so I see your position :-)

I have the same issue and have let it grow and have also cleaned it up. The only reason I started to clean it up was that it was an eyesore and I wanted a cleaner looking refugium. However, it is doing exactly what it is suppose to do... grow algae. It is just growing the nuisance algae, too. I have had some of the nuisance algae make its way in my tank, but my tangs, fox face and bennies gobble it up. It just depends on what fish you have stocked.
