Hi guys,

currently have a reefer 250, 10 gallon refugium, cooler, and a 25 gallon frag tank that I want to plumb together with one pump through a manifold that will control output to the five things. I was looking at the either vectra M1/M2 or Vectra L1/L2. Could someone please help me make a good decision. I want some room for growth but not ridiculously overkill either. Thank you all

Hi,

never ran a vectra but bet some is around tonight that has

Yeah. I think I’ll do a sicce pump instead. Unless a real good deal on a vectra or Varios comes along. I kinda spend a whole lot for Christmas already. LoL

Nice things about most modern return pumps is they can be dialed back if you got one that was too much gph. Always go bigger is my motto ;)

I’d recommend reef octopus varios! Check out the v8 maybe.. I got 2 v6 one as my skimmer one as my return and it’s really quiet and strong!

I would use an Ehiem 1260 pump, who says that when you turn off a DC pump that it will go exactly back where you left it. With an AC pump like an Eheim you can set it and the 5 other things and it will work every time.

I did something dumb. I closed the return valve because I wanted to have the vectra m1 send water through the carbon canister on the same line . It was on the lowest setting. I was trying to have the sump water cleaned because I tripped some pipe glue in there. after 10 minutes the pump is off and won't turn on. what do I do???? did it overheat? any chance it has a fail safe and is cooling down?
