Hello all. I have been looking for a Dracula Goby for several weeks now. I've been watching the major online guys. LA, Bluezoo, saltwaterfish. No luck so far. If anyone has some other suggestions I would appreciate it. Are these fish seasonal and I just need to wait a while? Thanks!

They're just super rare and expensive, one of my LFS had one for 3 weeks that I was so tempted to buy, but it had a slightly messed up jaw and didn't act too lively in their tanks, so I passed on it.

I went through the same thing you're going through right now trying to get my Randall's goby. I ended up finding one for sale very randomly at one of our chain pet stores that had said a few months before that they wouldn't special order one in for me

Have you been watching Divers Den? DD has them pretty often though it is usually a pair with a pistol.

They are very rare and given their rather hit and miss appearance in a tank (no pun intended) It's tough to justify the purchase price on one. Personally I would just go with a Hi-Fin and call it good.

Ha! It may come to that.

How about a Wheelers goby pair? I have seen pic of a pair belonging to @jlanger and they are beauties.

I have been giving those thought. Divers Den has had several lately and they are some good looking fish.

DD just had a pair of these with shrimp yesterday. I waited too long and missed it and now I'm mad at myself. These guys would be my choice.

So, I decided to go with the Wheeler goby pair that came up on DD today. A Dracula may happen some day, but not today.

Looking forward to getting the order in. The Wheelers will make a great addition.

I missed another one today? Ugh. :(

Well congrats.

You can’t go wrong with a pair of Wheeler’s Gobies; great little gobies.
The Randall’s Gobies are another of my favorites to keep in pairs. I’ve had a spawning pair in my 120gal reef where I could see the egg mass in the burrow.
I suspect my Wheeler’s pair is also spawning as there are periods of a few days where only one of the fish is visible. I started to document that schedule but life was too busy and I stopped tracking their routine.

Good luck with your gobies!

Well congrats.

Are you signed up for the DD email? About noon CST the send out a potential list for DD that day. So I was logged in and ready to pounce right at 5:00pm.

Just thought I'd put this out there in case anyone is still looking. Live Aquaria has Dracula gobies in stock. They're not on DD though:)

Yeah. I saw this. I knew as soon as I gave up and got something else LA would have them again :/. Next time.

But, the Wheelers came today and they look great and are starting to make themselves at home :)

It happens to the best of us;)

My bonded pair of wheelers gobies from DD just arrived today!

And I also second the hi fin red band goby.

A pair of those will soon join my wheelers and pink spot
