I have some fire and ice zoas and the blue just does not pop like i see others do..i have mine up high in the tank and want to know if i should move them lower in the tank...i have 2 150w hqi and power compacts as actincs..thanks for any info on this

I keep mine low in my tank as will all my zoas. Try feeding them cyclopeze - that should bring a lot more color out.

i guess some pics would help..here are two i took today the 2nd is a top down..they use to be alot more blue but have kinda faded into a more gray color hope this helps

I have 2 small frags in my tank. I have one 3 inches from the light and one half way down in the 5.5 tank. I'd say the ones in the middle have more of the blue then the other. I have 36 watt pc.

thanks joe.does anyone else have any input on this..i moved them down lower to see if that helps some so we will see just wanted some more thoughts on this and where you got yours placed at

since moving these at the bottom they are starting to look a little better..some of these zoas are so strange i had some blues that just loved light and seemed as if they were still wanting more but from what i see the fire and ice seem to like lower light still learning with zoas..i was never really big into them started off with lps..but zoas and play have really grown on me and that is what i am getting this tank as mostly

My fire and ice melted and im thinking it was too much light. I never moved them because they would die off and come back, one time they never came back. I was never able to get anymore than maybe 6 -7 polyps and thats about what i originally started with i think.

I have noticed that the frag i have near the bottom is growing like crazy but my colony near the top hasn't grown much at all. I'm going to frag 2 polyps off and put one on top and one on the bottom and see in a few months how it does.
