Fish death question

Recently I had a yellow tang die. Was a healthy fish just up and died. The question is would a fire scallop dieing in the tank cause my yellow tang to die maybe spikes in something in the water.
My yellow tang died then I noticed that my scallop had died sometime that week and the bristle worms had ate it

Did you test for ammonia when you discovered both deaths?

No just did a big water change the thing is my maroon clown is fine

Maybe it was not eating enough? They need lots of nori

Still might not be a bad idea to test. Different fish can react differently. Sometimes fish just die. Sometimes you just never know why. No visible deficiencies ?

Nope fish was super healthy and just up and died
