I have a 40 gal sump with my uv sterilizer, and skimmer, loaded with carbon, ceramic rings, live rock, and sponges.

My only problem is my filter sock. I'm a happy feeder and some of the food ends up in the sock, so I was thinking about adding a small fish probably some sort of damsel so they can eat the food instead of it rotting in the sock. Will it work??

I would strongly advise against it. The trauma of constant turbulence as well as the trauma from regular handling for filter sock changes will certainly kill it in no time despite it being a hardy damsel.

That's what I was thinking. Thank you very much
