I'm in awe. I've actually had in mind to do an "uncured live rock, see what comes out " tank for ages, buy I might have to wait till I get my masters to have any hope of identifying what I see. O.o
Though, since my goal is to study deep water benthic inverts, I don't know how much cross over there would talk be.

I have to agree with @hinovak and a few others along this journey, this was much better than watching evening drama shows with the wife! Awesome thread!!

Since this has also become the what else could possibly be in my tank thread...

Any thoughts? It appears to be an orange fleshy limpet.

My money is on a Scutus sp. Which I believe are beneficial

Lucapina aegis! Orange frilly limpet. Pretty thing, don't know much about them.

Jar trap set for crabs. Can't find the tops for the bottle traps so I'll be making more tomorrow. I'm using clams as bait. Let's hope I can pull some of these guys out!

I'm waiting with baited *snrk* breath to see what you pull out next!

Last check it is just hermits.. may need something more tempting to pull the rock crabs out of hiding. We will see in the morning

Haha, you should just go buy the biggest meanest wrasse you can find, and just leave him in there for a few months, he might help you out a little.
I've had that idea in the back of my head. Pull out everything I want to keep then just let a few Lg pred fish go to town. It gets more inviting when my traps only catch hermits....

I hear ya, I love wrasses, so I just accepted the fact that I have to replace my clean up crew every so often...that being said, there are some amazing wrasses that are exceptionally great hunters. Depending on which species you get, I might go with two different types for good measure, you would have something fun to watch for awhile, and weed out some of your pests! By the way, your thread is awesome to read!

Last night haul. Haven't decided yet what to do. If I dump them back they will just get in the way again.

Years ago I had a male lunar wrasse. He would just kill my poor snails for the fun. Didn't even eat all of them.
