Fish recommendations?

They can - Again, these fish can thrive without shrimp. they DO NOT need sand burrows. You’re thinking of the Cryptocentrus genus that needs that. Not all Cryptocentrus gobies pair so it’s always better to go with Stonogobiops gobies.

My yasha doesn’t care about not having a shrimp and definitely doesn’t use the sand - He uses it to perch on but rarely to make a burrow. My S. yasha hid in a deep rock hole for a year when it went into my first tank. Now in this tank it hides in the rocks again (Another year went by of him doing this).

I ended up getting a fire fish and a long nose butterfly, I wanted a copperband, but couldn’t find one anywhere local, but they both adjusted to the tank pretty well, the butterfly had a bit of a showdown with my yellow tang but they both backed down and are swimming together now

I’d love a Forcipiger longirostris… Man I regret my CBB sometimes. I love the long snouts Forcipiger butterflies get compared to CBBs but I guess that fish is in the future for me, anyone got any idea how long CBBs live for in captivity when they’re established and thriving?

From what I’ve read, CBBs can be rather aggressive to other butterflies and with mine being 2 years established into my tank it’s risky unfortunately…

Will the aggression not just die down over time though when i added my goldflake my lemonpeel was harassing him but it just died down and everything is fine now my purple was being aggressive to my PBT for like 1 week nothing major but the aggression was there and it just died down too they swim side by side now i would go for it if i was you

I think it will die down over time, I may try it in the future but I think I’ll wait for one of the other guys to move on, Longirostris is my dream butterflyfish to own so I may do it!

Honestly I’m more worried about the yellow tang lol, he’s so scared of everything STILL ever since I got him he just hides 24/7

People and animals most aggression comes from fear. Just be careful and ready to separate. He/she may like a friend to bring it out of hiding.
I would highly recommend not getting a six line wrasse!

Hey everyone! I’m looking to add some new additions to our reef tank! We have a 125 gallon tank with two clowns, diamond goby, yellow tang, coral banded shrimp, engineering goby, and a blue damsel, also various zoas, and soft corals

what do you guys recommend?

Fire fish are very active and bright additions, cardinal fish are also unique, something Bigger I would say a fox face and/or yellow corris wrasse
